Tennessee is what we refer to as a licensed state, because it regulates the practice of electrology through licensing. The Tennessee Health Related Boards set the standards for those interested in becoming an electrologist in Tennessee. Completing 600 hours of electrology training is required before being allowed to sit for your state electrology licensing exam. However, in contrast to many other licensed states, those who wish to become a licensed electrologist in Tennessee must also complete certain other credit hours. Contact Ron Davis, Director of AIE today so that he can explain these requirements to you.
Our 600 hour electrology program meets Tennessee’s training requirements and is delivered in two modules, in a combination of online and onsite study. To make training as manageable as possible, all theory can be completed online and constitutes 45% of the curriculum or 272 hours, while the hands-on practical training is done in-school and is 55% of the curriculum or 328 hours. Theory and practical training modules may be taken separately or together.
This program is offered on an open-enrollment basis, so you may start any day you wish and you can complete your training on a flexible schedule. You may complete your training in as little as 4 months or take as long as 18 months. The choice is all yours! Upon graduating, you'll have the credibility that automatically comes with the professional designation, "Licensed Electrologist," and you’ll be prepared to start your new career.

For many years those of us associated with electrolysis understood that epilators operated at a frequency of 13.5 megahertz. About twelve years ago Dectro International introduced its Platinum line of epilators that operate at 27 MHz. Our horizons were expanded. Their claim is that hair is permanently removed 25% faster and with a degree of comfort previously unheard of. So what are we to make of an epilator that operates at 6.68 MHz?
At the American Institute of Education, we let our electrolysis graduates speak for us! Our state-of-the-art training leads to exciting, financially rewarding careers. Our graduates are some of the most sought after electrologists in the market.
I really loved school at American Institute of Education and I selected it because I heard it was the best program. The experience was amazing even from the first phone call with Ron where tuition, scholarships, program hours flexibility, online access, and timely information is all top notch. The curriculum is national standard and includes all the latest and greatest topics that are hot in the industry.
