Electrology Licensing Program for California

Thank you for visiting our California page. Unlike other vocational schools, we don't sell our visitors, we educate them on our profession and work to meet their goals.

We recognize that at this stage of your exploration, you're primarily looking for information on California State Electrology Regulations and how, as a state licensed Electrology school, we take enrollees from student status to Licensed Electrologist.

Here is what you need to know about attending AIE...

Open Enrollment

Unlike other electrology schools in the U.S., our program has been offered on an open-enrollment basis for the past three and a half decades. This means that you can start any day and complete your training on a flexible schedule.

The timeline for completion can vary from 4 1/2 months to one year. This gives you tremendous flexibility to attend and complete your clinical training module. You can pick the days / weeks to attend that meet your personal commitments and schedules.

Requirements

The state of California requires that students successfully complete the California 600 hour Electrology curriculum prior to sitting for their State Licensing exam.

Our Program

We use a two module system to deliver California's curriculum. Theory here at AIE is a hybrid module, meaning you can complete 272 hours online, 45% of the program, then while attending for the practicum, we enhance what you've completed online with daily lectures.

Our lecture series provides a forum for you to ask questions as well as participate in discussion groups.

Our clinical module totals 55% of the curriculum. Here, you'll learn the practical skills needed to perform electrolysis using all modalities on today's fastest, most comfortable and affordable electrology epilators.

When done, you'll be able to purchase equipment directly from the manufacturers at discounted student prices.

Our Instructors

Our instructors are former AIE graduates who successfully completed their programs and were licensed by our Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.

They established their practices, then after years of personal development, they returned to our school to become approved instructors so that they can give back to our profession. AIE instructors bring real world experience to our students, coupled with an understanding of the student experience here at AIE. At one time, they were you!

If you've landed on this California page and are from another state, know that we offer electrology programs that meet most licensed states' specific requirements, including all 18 states that do not license the practice of electrology.

Combination programs like ours save you time and money. Our graduates have come from across the U.S. and as far away as Canada, China, Israel and Japan. Call {{{tel_link}}} for more information.

Electrolysis Reimagined

Electrolysis machinery

For many years those of us associated with electrolysis understood that epilators operated at a frequency of 13.5 megahertz. About twelve years ago Dectro International introduced its Platinum line of epilators that operate at 27 MHz. Our horizons were expanded. Their claim is that hair is permanently removed 25% faster and with a degree of comfort previously unheard of. So what are we to make of an epilator that operates at 6.68 MHz?
