Ohio has a 750 hour electrology training requirement and at the present time American Institute of Education does not support or offer this curriculum. Ohio is one of only a few states that requires out of state vocational schools to become "state approved" with Ohio's State Medical Board.
Based upon the few requests we receive each year, the Directors of AIE decided that there wasn't sufficient volume to pursue this requirement. We also disagree with their curriculum to some extent. The curriculum requires 150 hours of head and neck massage training, something that no other state requires and that no electrologist would consider doing.
If you plan to practice electrology in Ohio upon completing your training, we suggest that you attend a school in your state.
Alternative: If you live close to the border of a neighboring state and plan to work there rather than in Ohio, or, if you are planning to move from Ohio to another part of our country, call 1-888-844-4247. AIE trains students for most other states in our nation and we would be pleased to assist you.
Over the past 36 years, we've trained students from across the U S and as far away as Canada, China, Israel and Japan.
Today, many States allow combination programs that consist of Online Theory, completed from the comfort of your home, and in-school practical training that is completed in our school in Tustin, CA.
Call us for information specific to your State licensing requirements. Combination Programs save you time and money. About 40% of your training can be completed online and you can start whenever you want. Download your textbook and study guides and take practice exams online at your convenience.
Apply online by filling out our short Online Application and immediately reserve space in our next class.
Extend your payments beyond your time in school. All loans can be paid-off at any time without pre-payment penalty.

For many years those of us associated with electrolysis understood that epilators operated at a frequency of 13.5 megahertz. About twelve years ago Dectro International introduced its Platinum line of epilators that operate at 27 MHz. Our horizons were expanded. Their claim is that hair is permanently removed 25% faster and with a degree of comfort previously unheard of. So what are we to make of an epilator that operates at 6.68 MHz?
At the American Institute of Education, we let our electrolysis graduates speak for us! Our state-of-the-art training leads to exciting, financially rewarding careers. Our graduates are some of the most sought after electrologists in the market.
I really loved school at American Institute of Education and I selected it because I heard it was the best program. The experience was amazing even from the first phone call with Ron where tuition, scholarships, program hours flexibility, online access, and timely information is all top notch. The curriculum is national standard and includes all the latest and greatest topics that are hot in the industry.
